2 단순시제 - 현재시제
■ 현재 시제 … 현재의 상태, 반복적인 일
✔ 빈도부사
always, often, usually, never
cf. have always p.p.
✔ 빈도
frequently, regularly, periodically, routinely, every~, each~, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, quarterly
✔ 규정
commonly, ordinarily, normally, typically, generally
✔ 현재
presently, currently, now
✔ 일반적 사실, 규정 설명
The fitness center’s facilities include a gym and tennis courts.
(그 피트니트센터의 시설은 체육관과 테니스 코트를 포함하고 있다.)
Cf> sometime (언젠가- 미래) / sometimes (때때로- 현재 등)
periodical (정기적인, 정기간행물) / periodically (주기적으로- 현재)
currently (현재- 현재,현재진행,현재완료) / recently (최근에- 과거,현재완료)
■ 시제일치 예외
1. 시간, 조건의 부사절
-미래 시제 대신 현재 (현재진행,현재완료) 사용
2. 주장/ 제안 / 명령 /요구 동사, 명사 뒤 that 절
-(should) 동사원형 사용
insist, suggest, order, demand, request, require, ask, 추천( recommend ), 충고( advise )
3. 당위를 나타내는 형용사 뒤 (imperative, necessary, important, natural-당연한, vital, essential…) that 절
-(should) 동사원형 사용
✔ 사역동사 (지각동사) 목적격 보어 자리 주의!
3 단순시제 - 과거시제
■ 과거 시제 … 과거의 상태, 과거 시점에 발생한 일, (빈도부사)
last ~ , ~ ago, yesterday, those days, in 과거 연도, recently / lately
when +S 과거V, the other day (요전에), once (한 때)
Cf> at this time (이 시점에- 현재) / at that time (그 당시에- 과거)
these days (요즘- 현재완료) / those days (그 당시에- 과거)
4 단순시제 - 미래시제
■ 미래 시제 … 미래 시점에 발생할 일, will + V 'is / are –ing’
tomorrow next ~ this coming Sunday in the future
upcoming, following, later +시점, in 미래 연도, in 기간
soon / shortly (곧, 즉시- 미래)
as of = effective = starting May 10
소망, 예측형 동사 - anticipate / predict / expect / hope that S will
by / until + 미래시간
Cf> in ten minutes (10분 후에)
shortly after, soon after, right after (직후에)
5 진행시제
■ 현재 진행 ( is / are ~ing )
1. 현재의 한 시점에 진행되는 일, ‘~하는 중’
now currently presently at the moment
2. 가까운 미래 나타냄
■ 과거 진행 ( was / were ~ing )
- 과거의 한 시점에 진행되었던 일 표현
■ 미래 진행 ( will be ~ing )
- 미래의 한 시점에 진행될 일 표현
6 완료시제
■ 현재 완료 ( have / has ~ p.p. )
since + 과거시점, for 숫자, during / for / in / over the past year, these days, nowadays, so far, recently, lately, for a time (그 시간 동안)
∴ now 표현 시제 주의 - for now, just now, by now, until now, up to now (지금까지)
Cf> currently already, yet, still
✔ since 부사절, 주절
(과거) (현재완료)
■ 과거 완료 ( had ~ p.p. )
1. 과거의 기간을 나타냄
2. 과거 이전의 일을 설명
✔ S had p.p. before S 과거V
✔ S 과거V after S had p.p.
✔ by the time S 과거, S had p.p.
∴ 과거완료 시제 힌트 : 현재완료 기간 표현 + 과거 시점
He sent me the present that he had bought in London.
(그는 런던에서 샀었던 선물을 내게 보냈다.)
■ 미래 완료 ( will have p.p. )
과거부터 미래까지 계속되거나 완료될 일
✔ by the time S + 현재, S will have p.p.
✔ by (until) 미래 시점, S will have p.p.
7 조동사 주의
✔ would
①과거의 불규칙적 습관
②제안, 바램, 허락
✔ should have p.p.
~했어야 했는데… 안 했다 (과거 사실에 대한 유감)
✔ should (미래)
That should be fun. (재미있겠다)
✔ must have p.p.
~했음에 틀림없다 (과거 사실 추측)
✔ might have p.p.
~했었을 지도 모른다 (과거 사실 추측)
